We love bright colors for summer weddings. For those brides who also gush over bright colors too, think about incorporating a vibrant red it into your wedding. Since red is a bright color feel free to pick an accent color that is a little softer… think peony pink or champagne.
Enjoy the weekend!

You’ve received your invitations, but can’t seem to figure out how to address them. “Does Aunt Jane go before or after Uncle Mark on the first line?” It can be a daunting process, unless you have the proper resources. One that we love is TheKnot.com. In their article, “Wedding Invitations: Addressing Them”, they concisely address how to properly write your wedding invitations. Whether is children over 18 living at home, or same-sex couples, they’ve got answers!
And just in case you’ve decided you’d rather not hand-address your invitation envelopes, New and Blue offers several options for you. So stop in the store or visit us online!

Now that you have valuable knowledge regarding the budget for your wedding, it’s time to work. It is important to remember as you create a budget to have categories to track spending for flowers, food, beverages and other items (Excel is a great tool for this). Below is a percentage break down of spending for the average wedding.
Reception site rental, food and beverage: 37% Photography: 10% Florist: 10% Music: 10% Bride and Groom attire: 10% Wedding Coordinator: 10% Invitations, programs, calligraphy: 5% Misc (clergy, guest favors, attendants gifts, transportation):5% Ceremony site rental: 3%
After looking over this budget hopefully you can see where more money can be spent in one category and where less money can be spent in another. Example: holding the ceremony and reception at the same site will allow you to have a larger budget for invitations.

Are you confused by all the information you can find on planning your wedding? Well, here’s a shortened version of what is out there.
Weddings in 2010 are moving towards more casual environments. Think barns, backyards, gardens. The colors are also looking much more vibrant. The predictions are for purples, reds, oranges.
Favors are going the route of eco-friendly and re-usable. Hair designs will be weaving in more flowers and adding flower wreaths.
