What To Ask A Wedding Florist

December 8th, 2011

When shopping around for a wedding florist there are lots of questions to keep in mind. Many florist will vary on price, rentals and supplies, so it is important to find out what each florist can offer you. Before shopping around for a florist it is best to know your budget.  You should expect to spend around 10% of your wedding budget on flowers. To help you with your search here are some common questions to keep in mind when meeting with florists:

Who will be designing and delivering the flowers?
How many wedding per day do they accept? What are their capabilities?
What are the delivery costs?
Does the cost include the set up of the floral arrangements at the reception site  and ceremony site?
Do they offer rentals for vases? For purchase? Who is in charge of supplying the vases?
If there are rentals, what is the cost of each item?
Do they offer other rental items such as candles? Pew bows? etc?
Are there any taxes, overtime charges, gratuities, or fees that aren’t included in the contract?
When will the balance be due?
What kinds of flowers are in season for my wedding? Within my budget?
Where does the florist source their flowers (if you are having a eco friendly wedding)?
