What to Wear? New and Blue Guides You!
No matter how many pieces we add to our closets there is just no answering the never ending question- what to wear? This dilemma is even more exaggerated when it comes to special occasions like weddings. An invitation arrives in the mail and at the bottom you read “Black Tie”, does this mean you have to buy a ball gown? What about “Casual Attire”, can you really get away with donning your favorite pair of worn jeans? From Black Tie to Casual, New and Blue and About.com has you covered! Read more for details.

White Tie:
Men wear full tuxedos (vest, tie, shirt, etc.) and Women wear gowns or long dresses. Think highschool prom but without the acne or awkwardness.
Black Tie/ Formal
This is probably one of the most common of wedding dress codes. Men wear tuxedos or suits (skipping the bow tie or tie is definitely on option) and women wear long or short evening dresses.
Semi- Formal or Cocktail Attire
Men can choose a dark or light suit. Women wear shorter dresses or appropriate separates (think a pretty A-Line skirt with a matching blouse).
Casual Attire
For Him- appropriate matching dress shirt and slacks, with or without a sport coat. For Her- a cute cotton dress or separates worn with flats. We love casual just as much as anyone else but unless directly specified as “ok”, t-shirts or worn jeans are not really wedding appropriate. Sorry to burst any bubbles, but you’ll just have to save the those outfits for another time!
